Jasleen Kaur has over 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry and leads initiatives at ADS to continuously improve 5-S, productivity, quality, safety, and cost. She also ensures to improve the quality of the workforce that is engaged in the manufacturing unit.

Recently Entrepreneur Insights had a quick Q&A round with Jasleen that can help all female aspirants to break the shackle and pursue their careers in the manufacturing industry.

Men vs Women, How the status-quo is balanced in Manufacturing Industry in the 21st century?

“The true fact is Women are underrepresented in nearly every manufacturing sector.  But yes, many manufacturers like Acme Drinktec Solutions are turning the tables and making a more concerted effort to get women on board.”

Why do you prefer to come to this industry where females generally don’t prefer due to the tedious work culture?

“To change the mindsets of people & to show them that today’s generations are different.”

What are your key driving forces to becoming the company leader?

Job satisfaction as well as facing new challenges received from the rigid packaging industry. Thus, adds scope for creativity. When your customers are happy, corporate growth will be obvious.

Have you ever faced any gender bias situations in your professional journey?

Never! I was warmly welcomed and supported by the management as well as the staff members. I would say I was privileged during career of the extra pain was taken by everybody, to make me learn about the manufacturing process.

What are the tips to build a successful customer base?

Market trends & requirements keep changing frequently, Monitoring the same & recommendations to customers in line with this immediately, develops customer confidence with the supplier.

What kind of work culture you have established within your organization?

The work culture at our office is one that all of us absolutely adore and cherish. Our employees are like extended family to each other. The Top-management keeps organizing employee welfare/sports events as a team-building exercise.

What are your contributions to this organization?

As Head Sales & HRD, I have tried to maintain good reputation & deciplined relations with the team. Thus encouraging them to deliver the best performance from every individual.  Same being Sales head activity to bridge the gap between customer & ADS support team that fulfills the need. Sales involves in a key role in developing loyalty & trust with customers. Trustworthiness & loyalty are the main reasons why a customer would prefer a long term association with any company & ther service’s as well products.

What motivates you most?

Client Satisfaction is the most. Remember if your client is happy then your business is on the right track & the company is bound to get repeat business as well as good moral support.

How do you balance your work and family?

My family is my strength and they have stood by me all these years. ADS is my extended family and I am fortunate to have the support of both families.

What do you feel what are your set of responsibilities and targets for the next 5 years?

Target setting is a strategic planning activity, it’s teamwork. Nevertheless, observing developed country packaging usage, a huge scope is expected in developing such as our country as well as underdeveloped countries who are eagerly expecting world-class services with affordable price & results.

You are a woman executive and head of the marketing department of Acme Drinktec (ADS). Do you think women should be given a greater role in the industry?

Qualifications and capabilities do count. I do feel that women should play a greater role in the industry. Here at Acme Drinktec, we do encourage & promote women in various positions without discrimination of any kind. Women receive full support to make a success to their career. I can say that women are no less capable & can equally lead a company to success.
