“We have already started hiring locally and plan to launch upskilling programs like Zoho School of Learning in these locations as we scale up our operations,” Prashant GantiHead of products, tax, accounting and payroll, Zoho told ET.

Ganty told ET that the company is planning to grow organically and expand in other regions.
“We are following an international localization approach, where our global expansion is taking place by hiring locally in the countries where we are setting up operations,” he said.
Zoho, which has a presence in India and the US, has recently forayed into geographies such as Egypt, Jeddah and Cape Town.

The company is also working on tapping talent in rural India. Its global numbers are currently around 10,800.
ET reported on July 12 As Zoho has rural centers in Tamil Nadu and is looking for locations in Tier 3 and 4 cities of Uttar Pradesh to set up an office.
“Most of the talent in urban areas comes from villages and small towns. Companies need to take opportunities where there is talent, and invest in upskilling,” Gunti said.
Chennai-headquartered Zoho’s revenue grew over 22.3% to Rs 5,230 crore for FY11, according to filings with the Registrar of Companies. It posted a net profit of Rs 1,917.70 crore for the year, more than double the previous year – making it arguably India’s most profitable unicorn.

“We are also investing in enhancing our audio/video capabilities, which have become critical for all business operations. In India, we are also investing in rural revival initiatives, and in creating a deep-tech ecosystem in the country,” he said.
The SaaS company offers HR solutions through Zoho People, financial management through Zoho Books, and other products such as Zoho Inventory, Zoho CRM and Zoho Site. It is also looking to tap the financial management suite market that was previously served by Intuit’s Quickbooks.
“This presents a huge market opportunity for Zoho. We want to help many businesses that are looking for a good alternative and help them transition smoothly,” Ganti said.
