Urvan is a hyperlocal marketplace for plants and horticulture products. It started operations in Delhi-NCR in August 2021. The company plans to expand operations to major Indian cities including Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai by the end of this year.
Urvan partnering with local nurseries in a city offers a wide variety of fresh plants at affordable prices and next day delivery. The model differs from traditional players, which courier plants from one city to another, resulting in higher delivery costs and sub-optimal plant quality due to longer transit times.
Within a year of its inception, Urvan has already fulfilled over 15,000 orders, delivered 1,00,000 plants Delhiand served over 6,000 customers.
Mitesh Shah, Co-Founder, Inflection Point Ventures, said, “Urvan provides people with a platform for all their gardening needs at the click of a button, which enhances the entire customer experience. This is a largely untapped market opportunity. , especially in urban pockets”.
Urvann creates a one-stop store for gardening products and services. Its hyperlocal marketplace approach provides a platform for local plant nurseries to sell their products online and cater to their specific region.
