NS Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has plans to open 166 standalone Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Center nationwide, an official statement said on Saturday.

currently 55 bases service center (ASK) approx 52,000 . Apart from this, out of 166 planned centers are operational Aadhaar Enrollment centers run by banks, post offices and state governments.

“UIDAI plans to open 166 stand-alone Aadhaar Enrollment and Updation Centers in 122 cities across the country,” the statement said.

ASK is open on all days of the week and has served more than 70 lakh residents till date divyang persons.

The operational centers have the capacity to handle 1,000 enrollment and update requests per day for Model-A ASK, 500 enrollment and update requests per day for Model B ASK and up to 250 enrollment and update requests per day for Model C ASK.

So far more than 130.9 crore Aadhaar numbers have been generated.
