  • UIDAI provides the facility to generate Virtual Identifier (VID) whatever you do not want to share your Aadhaar number with. You can easily generate VID and use it for authentication in place of your Aadhaar number. This VID can be changed after the end of the calendar day.
  • You can view your Aadhaar authentication history for the last six months on the UIDAI website or on the m-Aadhaar app. Keep checking the same from time to time.
  • UIDAI notifies about the authentication on e-mail. Hence, linking your updated email ID with your Aadhaar number will ensure that you are notified every time your Aadhaar number is authenticated.
  • With OTP based Aadhaar authentication many services can be awaited. So always keep your mobile number updated with Aadhaar.
  • UIDAI provides the facility of biometric locking along with Aadhaar locking. If you are not likely to use Aadhaar for some time, you can lock your Aadhaar or biometrics for such time. ‘It can be unlocked easily and quickly, as and when required.
