SHILOH ISRAEL CHILDREN’S FUND IS ON A NOBLE MISSION TO REBUILD THE NEXT GENERATION IN ISRAEL’S HEARTLAND.
David Rubin says that his primary mission is to heal the trauma of the terror victim children. Further more, he wants to bring out the hidden talent amongst these children and ensure a brighter future for them.
Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund is a non-profit organization established after David Rubin and his three-year-old son were wounded in a terror attack. The goal is to heal the trauma of terrorism in Israeli children and to restore at least some of the lost innocence of childhood. They use integrated programs of therapy and education. Art, Music, and Animal-Assisted Therapies are just some of the healing strategies employed.

WHAT HAVE BEEN THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES YOU’VE HAD TO OVERCOME ?
The biggest challenge has been to stay focused on the vision of the organization and to get people around the world to work together and contribute toward those goals. Unfortunately, some people in the world let their politics get in the way of helping terror victim children.
Recently we got a chance to interact with David Rubin and know more about how Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund started and the story behind it:
WHAT STYLE DID YOU ADOPT OVER THE PERIOD ?
Over time, I have learned to delegate responsibility more, which helps me to focus on actualizing the vision and accomplishing a lot more.
WHAT DOES REVOLUTION MEAN TO YOU ?
Revolutionary change is exciting when one agrees with the goal, but evolutionary change is much more stable, and therefore, more desirable.
HOW HAS THE INDUSTRY CHANGED OVER THE YEARS ?
My focus has been on Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund (SICF), not on the industry as a whole, but I have noticed the shift to online giving and have adjusted our marketing strategies accordingly.
TELL US ABOUT THE CLIENT BASE
We get great support from Christians and Jews who love Israel, but of course, we welcome support and partnership with anyone who loves children and wants to stand with the terror victim children of Israel.
WHEN IT COMES TO THE ORGANIZATION, WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF ?
I am most proud of our growing ability to help turn the evil that the terrorists intended into good results for all of the children.
WHAT DO YOU SEE AS THE MOST DIFFICULT TASK IN BEING IN YOUR INDUSTRY ?Adjusting to changing times, especially economic downturns, or the challenge of personal interaction in the age of Covid.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE NOT AT WORK ?
I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, exercising, healthy eating, reading, and exploring the Land of Israel.
WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT DECISIONS YOU MAKE AS A LEADER OF YOUR ORGANIZATION ?
I need to lead my board to the best decisions about which projects to direct our support to, to decide how best to garner support in these difficult times for fundraising, and last but not least, always staying focused on the vision.
HOW DO YOU ENCOURAGE CREATIVE THINKING WITHIN YOUR ORGANIZATION ?
As I often emphasize, there are usually several different ways to get to one destination.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FUTURE ENDEAVORS ?
To gradually expand our therapeutic and educational services to encompass most of the biblical heartland of Israel.
WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE TO OUR READERS ?
Having a vision is an excellent start, but you will never accomplish your goals without a lot of hard work, passion, perseverance, and a strong belief in the justice of your cause.
