As per a recent tweet by the Income Tax Department, “CBDT issues refunds of more than Rs. Income tax refund of Rs 1.14 lakh crore to over 1.97 crore taxpayers between April 1, 2022 and August 31, 2022. 61,252 crore has been released in 1,96,00,998 cases and corporate tax refund of Rs. 53,158 crore has been released in 1,46,871 cases.

If you have filed your income tax return but have not yet received the full amount of your refund, you can check the status of your refund by following these steps.
The steps listed below can be used to check your status income tax refund On the new income tax portal of the government:
Step 1: Visit www.incometax.gov.in and log in to your account by entering PAN/Aadhaar number as User ID and your password.
Step 2: Click on ‘e-File’ option. Under the ‘e-File’ option, select ‘Income Tax Return’ and then select ‘View Filed Returns’.
Step 3: Check the latest ITR filed.
Step 4: Select ‘View Details’ option.
Once selected it will display the status of ITR filed. Additionally, it will show the date on which tax refunds were issued as well as the amount and date on which they were sanctioned.
