In an e-mail to employees, Ola founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal Said: “Bala has been our acting Group CPO for the past four months. Bala has stayed execution in HR. All-women factories, our sales scale, Ops and GTM (go to market) organizations. Our consumer businesses, and The increased hiring momentum in major technical organizations has been a significant contributor to the HR team over the past few quarters”.
The company’s workforce has increased from 4,500 to 8,000 in the last five months, keeping in view the growth across all businesses, he added.
“I am pleased to announce that he will be taking on the permanent role of Group CPO and will continue to provide HR leadership across all of our businesses.

Earlier this month, Ola announced key leadership appointments across its financial services, electric mobility and vehicle sales businesses.
PV Harinarayan has joined Ola Financial Services as Vice President Lending, while V Ramesh has joined as Head of Operations Ola Futurefactory,
Pritesh Mahajan has been named as Head of Two-Wheeler Program Management and Product Planning at Ola Electric.
Over the past few months, Ola itself has seen several exits from senior executives including Saurabh (Ola’s Chief Financial Officer) and Gaurav Porwal (Chief Operating Officer) and Sandeep Chowdhary (General Counsel).
These exits come ahead of Ola’s plans to go for an initial public offering (IPO).
In October, Ola also restructured the organization and expanded roles for some of its top leaders.
The Bengaluru-based company has made several appointments including Arun Sirdeshmukh (CEO of Ola Cars) and Vinay Bhopatkar (Head of Delivery Business).
