The EV maker started test rides in four cities- Bengaluru, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata on November 10 and opened five more cities- Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai and Pune on November 19. The company will rapidly expand the test rides in the coming weeks and will cover over 1,000 cities and towns across India by mid-December.
“Customer response to our test rides has been phenomenally positive and we are truly thrilled to see their enthusiasm for the revolutionary Ola S1 Scooter,” Hailstone Arun Sirdeshmukh, chief business officer of Electric, said in a statement on Saturday. “This is the fastest national test ride scale ever and the revolution in automotive retail is made possible by our direct-to-consumer model.”
The customer trial rides will commence on November 27 in Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, Vadodara, Bhubaneshwar, Tiruppur, Jaipur and Nagpur.
Ola Electric had unveiled two electric scooters Ola S1 and S1 Pro in August this year. In September, Ola said sales of its first electric scooter crossed Rs 1,100 crore in two days.
