In a circular, the corporation said that if the customer has already given consent for location sharing while availing the services and subsequently wishes to revoke the consent, its provisions should be available without any refusal.
“The Apps should continue to provide UPI services even after the Customer revokes the consent to share location or geographic details for the App,” the circular said.
In all cases where the customer has given consent to occupy the space, the same should be correctly passed to the UPI, and any violation will result in strict action on the part of the Corporation.
If the Customer refuses to consent, the Service Provider must not refuse or disable the Payment Services.
All the above guidelines are only for individual domestic UPI transactions, and all members will have to follow them by December 1, 2022.
