This collaboration will facilitate capacity building in the insurance and risk management space for the participants Gift city, according to a statement on Thursday. As a part of this tie-up, certification programs and training opportunities will be organized for insurers, reinsurers, insurance brokers, insurance technology and others with insurance needs. In addition, both the organizations will work jointly towards creating a platform to facilitate research, knowledge seminars and webinars for the benefit of the global players working in GIFT City.
With a growing number of international financial services entities operating out of GIFT City, it is equally important to upgrade and enhance skills to remain relevant in the fast-growing sectors of the financial services spectrum,” said GIFT MD & Group CEO Tapan Ray Shahar said.
“This collaboration will lay the groundwork for NIA and GIFT City to assist in capacity building of trained manpower to develop, launch and conduct training courses related to insurance and reinsurance business within GIFT City,” he added.
G Srinivasan, Director, National Insurance Academy said that NIA, with over 40 years of expertise in the field of insurance and risk management, can contribute by creating skill sets to bring the insurance stream alive and help in global expansion in a big way.
He further added that NIA can also contribute in building the insurtech ecosystem and development of actuarial professionals. It can also help build skill sets in areas such as aviation insurance, credit insurance and surety bonds.
