should you buy
This fund that takes a focused approach to stock selection has a focused portfolio consisting of no more than 25 stocks. Although a large-cap biased fund, its mid-cap presence is higher than that of peers. Currently housing 20 stocks, the fund plays large positions in its top bets. The fund primarily targets long-term compounders as having quality, growth-oriented businesses for the bulk of its portfolio. A small part is invested in aggressive bets on economy proxies that could be a play on the recovery. In its short run history, the fund has demonstrated superior performance and alternative bouts of underperformance while providing modest alpha since its inception. With its aggressive position, the fund needs to prove its mettle over a longer time frame.
