Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the scheme to give 5 kg of wheat and rice free every month to 80 crore poor, ending on Friday, will now run till December 31, 2022. The cabinet also approved a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance for central government employees and pensioners with effect from July 1.
