New Delhi: Mobility Startup Intracity has registered a growth of over 50% every month in the last four months as inter-city mobility picks up.

With an annual rate of $80 million in on-travel consumer spend across India, the platform is clocking five million bookings a month, according to a release.

Founded in 2019 and backed by Samsung Venture Investments, Nandan Nilekani Family Fund (NRJN), Omidyar Network, Bloom Ventures and Helion Venture Partners, the startup has raised nearly $30 million to date. in 2020, intracity 100 crore was raised in a single round led by Infosys non-executive chairman Nandan Nilekani.

With the increasing pace of vaccination and the easing of travel restrictions, IntrCity is seeing travellers’ confidence return to pre-pandemic levels for both leisure and non-holiday travel. With the current holiday and festive season, the region is witnessing a significant increase in intercity mobility bookings. During Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra weekends, the intracity smartbus fleet was almost full, and the buses were operating at over 90% occupancy throughout the month of October.

The company is targeting to take its Smartbus fleet to 400 this year. The IntrCity operating system includes a suite of applications, such as operator dashboards, crew apps, consumer platforms, and IoT-based fleet analytics. The company offers a consumer intracity app for real-time tracking, sleeper beds, Wi-Fi-enabled lounges on buses and boarding points, as well as ETAs of destinations.
