In a conversation with Entrepreneur Insights, Mrs. Kinjal Mehta, Director, and COO, Mehta Wealth Ltd., talks about how she made it to this successful position.

What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?

In today’s corporate world women find it difficult to survive as the men don’t allow them to flourish in their careers. But I was lucky enough that I got a great family where I was allowed to get into the family business. Being a married woman fitting into the family business and creating exponential growth was challenging in the beginning. But I am happy that I have accepted this challenge and kept a sound balance between my personal and professional life.

What does revolution mean to you?

In this golden age of globalization, digitalization, and start-up booms, India is seeing a revolution for women entrepreneurs. As per the Central Government census, 14 % of the total
entrepreneurship in India is contributed by Women Entrepreneurs, which I believe is still low. If we talk about equality between men and women then I guess the contribution should also be the same by both. Today every woman should take lead for herself. Each time a woman stands up for herself, possibly without knowing it or without claiming it she stands up for the whole women fraternity. So, for me, Revolution is that every woman should fight with the fear, the rigidity, and the limitations of herself and give herself the confidence, the wings to fly in the sky of success.

How has the industry changed over the years?

Talking about the finance industry it has drastically changed over a decade. The industry has become more structured and investors centric.

What do you see as the most difficult task in being in your Industry?

The most difficult task in our industry is that we have to wear many hats, including those of asset manager, financial planner, psychologist, and marketer to succeed

What do you do when you are not at work?

When not at work, my major time is dedicated to my family. I focus a lot on my health. The gym comes in my daily regime. Learning is the second thing that I make part of my routine.

What are the most important decisions you make as a leader of your organization?

All the decision-making activities related to

• Marketing, Human resource, Operations, Customer Delight and Finance of the company are governed by me.
• My core mantra behind handling all departments with sound balance is right delegation of work to my team.
