Kavitha’s story will motivate millions of small-town girls who dream of becoming
entrepreneurs. Hailing from a small valley in the South of India, she grew up in a conservative and orthodox middle-class family. She struggled to be seen and heard, just because she was a girl. Her fighter spirit fueled by her amazing mentors enabled her to tap deep into her inner potential. She has risen above all her challenges to inspire many who are suppressed and thus living in doubt and fear.

Kavitha is a certified Image Consultant and Personal Branding Expert from the Image Consulting Business Institute & Conselle Institute of Image Management, USA. She has her Soft Skills Certification from the Scottish Qualifications Academy and is a Certified Train the Trainer from NABET. She is privileged to be one of the world’s first cohorts to be trained directly by the founders of the prestigious Lifebook Company, Jon and Missy Butcher, USA, to become a Certified Lifebook Leader.

How it started ?
Having donned diverse leadership roles globally for 14 years in the corporate sector, her job experience gave her ample opportunity to realize how portraying the right image was critical in the success of an individual be it at any designation. It was tragic to observe that many a time their first impression was their biggest barrier. This observation changed her trajectory totally. She began mentoring such candidates and groomed them, helping them land their dream jobs or job promotions.

What started as a gesture to help individuals turned into her passion and profession when she realized that playing a catalyst in transforming people’s lives was what she was meant to do. It gave her the kind of fulfillment and soul satisfaction that she had never experienced earlier. She quit her job when right at the peak in her career to plunge deep into what was her calling.

Style Tangent was founded by Kavitha Lakshmi Manevannan in 2014, initially just with the idea of bringing to the forefront well qualified and deserving candidates who were facing rejection just because “He/She couldn’t fit in.”

Today, some of her clients are at Google and the Silicon Valley, and students she’s worked with are at places like Columbia University in leadership roles leading international students. She has successfully trained over 12000 people and coached more than 3000 clients globally to date.

Vision

Her vision is to take Lifebook to 000’s of underprivileged girls and those women who despite being highly capable yet live in doubt and fear. This strong life purpose stems from the fact that her very own story began from nothing and now is the time for her to contribute. This does not stop her from working with men as a large part of her clientele are men in leadership roles.

Client Base

As an Image Consultant and Personal Branding Expert, Kavitha conducts workshops for corporates, professionals, doctors, professors, judges, chartered accountants, graduating students, women on a break from work, brides and grooms, you name it…… She also has customized 121 sessions for clients who are celebrities, politicians, sports personalities, newsreaders and so on.

Initially, apart from her clients in India, she had selective clients who were NRIs. Today, with Lifebook Premium she has a client base in the USA, Canada, Dubai, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

Which one thing do you wish you’d done differently ?

Professionally, she had no concrete business plan on hand when she started off as an entrepreneur. She had not understood the nuances or importance of marketing. Though she had clients who have been with her for over 7 years, she had never taken the initiative to widen her horizon and make the best use of the online platform to widen her reach. Having recognized and rectified that, today, her reach is worldwide.

What does revolution mean to you ?

The revolution that we see is, that despite it being a crazy, chaotic world out there with so much noise, so much instability and so much turbulence, there are more options than ever, limitless possibilities. We have immediate access to all human knowledge right in our pockets.

For me, Revolution is the change that we try to bring in people’s life. With Lifebook Premium (a Premium Program at Style Tangent), we are trying to take people down a path where they can take responsibility for their own lives, meaning they can be the ones to decide who they want to become. How has the industry changed over the years ?

A few years back, if one had to do an international personal development program, there were so many factors to consider. We are currently in the best possible day and age, and ought to take advantage of this, to take our lives to the next level and upgrade our Quality of Life.

What do you do when you are not at work ?

She’s a mompreneur, loves cycling, running, is a yoga enthusiast (has an International Teacher’s Training certification in yoga). She loves quality time with her partner, kids, reading, long drives, and travel. For her, life is about finding balance and fulfillment and success and happiness without compromising or sacrificing in one area to achieve success in another.

What are some of your future endeavors ?

Why Lifebook for kids: With no disrespect to the formal method of education, she asks if it would be sufficient to just learn about igneous rocks, cumulus clouds, and a magic math formula??? Or learn – How to follow your passion? How to be healthy at 50? How to bring joy and happiness into your relationship? How to speed learn? How to live a life of mission and purpose? How to manage your money and finances ?
