Due to closure of banks in some cities of Maharashtra persian new year ,Shahenshahi) While banks are open in other states today except Maharashtra where banks are closed today on account of Parsi New Year.

According to reserve Bank of India(RBI) calendar lists all banks as closed on public holidays, despite the fact that some holidays vary from state to state. All national banks observe only those days which have been set aside by the government as holidays.

Banks will remain closed for both private and public sector institutions across the country, on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month as well as on every Sunday.

For the remaining month of August, banks in some states will be closed for these festivals: Janmashtami, Tithi of Srimanta Sankardev, Ganesh Chaturthi.

The holidays prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India are as follows: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Leave; and closing bank accounts.
