Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said India needs 4-5 “SBI sized” banks to meet the growing needs of the economy and industry. Addressing the 74th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), he said the industry needs to envision what Indian banking should be like in the immediate and long-term future.
