The private lender faced intermittent problems in its digital distribution on Tuesday, with many users taking to social media to complain about problems in processing transactions. Several bank users complained that they were unable to use their net-banking or mobile apps. Some other users also complained of failure in UPI related transactions.

It could not be ascertained what caused this problem, although some users said that the problem had been going on for “a few hours”.

ICICI Bank could not be immediately contacted for a response. (We will update the article when the bank responds to an email query)

ICICI Bank user B Mathur, who tried to log into internet banking, tweeted an error message saying “The page you are viewing is temporarily unavailable.”

“We tried to log into 3 family accounts from 2 different laptops in 15 minutes, received this error message in all cases. Seeing the same message as many other users on your timeline right now. Please let us know when the problem will be fixed,” he said.

Another user Mohan Kumar asked if ICICI The bank’s digital channels were shut down as they were facing problems in processing UPI transactions.

Another ICICI customer Swapnil Wankhede tweeted a screenshot of the mobile app, showing an error message that read, “Service is currently available. Please try after some time.”

It is not known how many ICICI Bank customers were affected due to the downtime.
