It has become an extremely important document for most financial institutions. It is important that your Aadhaar data is correct and up-to-date at all times. Here’s how to update date of birth in aadhar

Step 1: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.

Step 2: Click on ‘Login’

Step 3: Enter your aadhar number, Captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’. One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 4: Enter the OTP and click on ‘Login’. Keep in mind that OTP is valid for 10 minutes only.

Once logged in, on the homepage you can access various services. to select ‘update aadhar online’ to update the date of birth.

Once selected, you will be redirected to the new page. You will be shown how the updation process will work. You can make minor corrections in name, date of birth, gender, language and address through the online portal. Once you have read all the steps,

Step 5: Click on ‘Proceed to update Aadhaar’.

Step 6: Select ‘Date of Birth’ from the options

A scan copy of the original supporting document is required for date of birth correction. Please ensure that the supporting document is in your name and is valid.

Step 7: Upload documents and make payment

Note: You have to pay Rs 50 for online update fee. You can pay through credit/debit card or net banking. This amount is non-refundable. In case of payment failure, you can retry the payment.

The information will be compared with the supporting document. If the information provided is incorrect your request will likely be rejected. After completion of quality check process you will get an SMS notice with Enrollment ID and Result.

According to the UIDAI website, “Normally, the update request is processed within 30 days with 90% service standards. You can check the request processing status by visiting myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.

Currently, changing your date of birth online allows only one modification. Exception handling mechanisms can be implemented if it needs to be modified beyond the allowed time. While the modification can be done by visiting the Aadhaar centre, the following documents should be brought with you.
