Aadhaar is a 12-digit identification number given by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). According to UIDAIIf Aadhaar authentication fails due to faulty biometric capture or poor biometric quality received on enrollment, residents can get their biometrics (eg photograph, iris scan) updated.

While demographic details like name, address, date of birth/age, gender, mobile number and email address can be updated online, for biometric update, one has to visit an Aadhaar enrollment center for updation. Biometric information includes a photograph of the iris, fingerprints and face.

Here is how you can change/update your photograph in your Aadhaar.

Step 1: To update your photo, you will first need to download the Aadhaar Enrollment Form from the UIDAI website. Click

Step 2: Fill the required details and submit at the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center

Step 3: A center executive will authenticate your information and capture a fresh photograph.

Step 4: You have to pay more than Rs 100 GST To take advantage of this service.

Step 5: Collect the acknowledgment slip with the number of the Update Request (URN).

On the official website of UIDAI, you can use the URN to check the status of your Aadhaar update.

For demographic updates, residents can use the self-service online mode to change their addresses, and they can do it instantly on the portal. The resident’s Aadhaar ID and registered mobile number are required to access the portal.
