Bombay High Court on Tuesday refused to grant bail to the founder Rana KapoorWife and two daughters in a corruption and cheating case involving private sector lender Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL).

A single bench of Justice Bharati Dangre dismissed the bail applications of Kapoor’s wife Bindu and daughters Roshini and Radha.

The trio had moved the High Court last week, challenging a September 18 special CBI court order refusing to grant them bail on the ground that they had duped Yes Bank of ₹4,000 through illegal acts. There was a loss of Rs.

The trial court had sent her to 14-day judicial custody and said that she did not deserve any sympathy as a woman.

All three are currently lodged in Byculla Women’s Jail in Mumbai.

In his bail petitions filed in the HC, he had said that the special CBI court had erred seriously by observing that the charges against him were prima facie co-fraudulent and dishonest for the favor shown by Yes Bank for obtaining loans. Shows the complexity in getting a loan. DHFL.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had opposed their submissions and said that there was nothing wrong in the special court order and it was ensuring the presence of the accused only for the purpose of trial.

The CBI case is that Rana Kapoor, who is currently in jail in connection with a related case being probed by the Enforcement Directorate, had entered into a criminal conspiracy with DHFL’s Kapil Wadhawan.

The CBI said that between April and June 2018, Yes Bank invested Rs 3,700 crore in short-term debentures of DHFL. In return, DHFL allegedly paid Rs 900 crore to Kapoor as a loan to Urban Ventures, a DOIT controlled by Kapoor’s wife and daughters.
