New Delhi: owned by walmart Flipkart On Wednesday, it said it has strengthened its distribution network with over one lakh ‘kirana’ (neighborhood store) partners across the country. Big Billion Days Sale and the upcoming festive season.

“With a 100,000-strong grocery delivery network, which has more than doubled from last year, Flipkart is further strengthening its last-mile network and reach, especially in pin-codes and towns that are difficult to reach and digital. Along with upskilling, additional income opportunities are also being created for grocery,” a statement said.

Over 10 million deliveries were made across the country by these specially trained kirana partners during the festive season last year.

Flipkart started the program in 2019 to engage local stores and stores as delivery partners and since then, has continuously invested in making these businesses ready to deliver.
