By providing pan India market access to over 400 million customers on its platform to local farming communities and SHGs of Telangana.
As part of this collaboration, Flipkart will source premium quality pulses, millets, staples and spices directly from local farmers, thereby improving income and business growth.
Flipkart will engage with these communities through virtual and on-ground training and capacity-building initiatives to provide them with an understanding of the quality, pricing and licenses required to be part of the FPO ecosystem. SERP will provide the infrastructure and support with necessary approvals to take this partnership forward.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply, Erabeli Dayakar Rao said, SHGs and women of Telangana will now be able to sell their products to pan India consumer base to get better livelihood and more visibility.
“There are 4,36,000 SHGs in the state with 46 lakh members. We want to support all of them, especially women, for whom we aim to provide a loan of Rs 500 crore this year. We are confident that the SHGs will work. Tough and use these initiatives to accelerate your growth and grow your businesses,” Dayakar Rao said.

Flipkart is currently working with multiple FPOs, small and marginal farmers across the country to build sustainable and scalable partnerships. It has trained more than 10,000 farmers across the country on product quality and food security to gain access to the market and empower and enrich the farming community in India, the release said.
