What is Streedhan?

Stridhan, as per law, refers to any property acquired by a woman at any time in her lifetime. Usually these include gifts received by him at the time of his birth, marriage, widowhood. This also includes gifts received at some other point in his life. Apart from this, whatever a woman has achieved on her own is also considered as Stridhan. By definition, Streedhan includes all movable, immovable property gifts such as cash, gold, even equipment etc. received by the woman. Anyone can give Streedhan, i.e. parents, husband, in-laws, friends, strangers, employers etc.
