You can now voluntarily avail 58 citizen-centric services related to transport online with the help of Aadhaar authentication. These services include driving license Application and renewal, learner license application and renewal, vehicle registration, and transfer of ownership, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on September 16, 2022. The move aims to eliminate the need to visit the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and reduce the compliance burden.

Who can avail these services online?

Only people with 16 digit Aadhaar number can access a total of 58 services online. As per the circular of the Ministry of Roads, note that your mobile number needs to be linked with your Aadhaar number to avail these services online.

What if you do not have Aadhaar number?

Without Aadhaar authentication, you cannot access these services online. Those who do not have Aadhar number can get physical form from RTO office by providing any other valid ID card.
