self acquired asset
According to the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, any property which is acquired by a person through his own resources or through division of ancestral property is his self-acquired property. Similarly, property acquired by virtue of property being the legal heir, gift deed or ‘will’ is also self-acquired property. Property inherited from deceased brother, uncle etc. is also self-acquired property.
