After reducing its portfolio size a few years back, the fund’s holdings have risen again. Still, it retains its top-heavy leanings, with larger positions in the top few bets with longer tails of minor holdings. Apart from its general growth bias, the fund manager also doesn’t mind placing some contrast bets in the portfolio. The fund remained weak for a long period of time between 2017-20, but performed well last year. However, it has slipped again this year, sharply lagging behind its index and competitors. With the fund struggling to break free from its shackles, this can be avoided for now.
