He said that BOI Managing Director and CEO AK Das opened the branch in the presence of Field General Manager AK Jain, Zonal Manager Vasudev, Branch Manager Sangeeta and various local dignitaries and customers.
Das said, “The bank is fully committed to extend its banking services to the people living in remote areas of the country. Opening a branch here is an important step towards this goal.”
He said that this will not only boost the economic activities in the area but will also help the local people to access various banking products like housing, vehicle, education and agriculture loans and avail other government schemes.
Das said the bank has a unique salary account scheme to provide free insurance cover for defense and paramilitary personnel.
He said, “The bank also offers home, vehicle and consumer loans at lower rates. Recently, the bank has reduced the interest rate for housing loans to 6.50 per cent and for vehicle loans to 6.85 per cent.”
Das said that the bank will continue to strive to provide best quality banking facilities to its customers and connect more and more people to mainstream banking with fully digitized facilities.
Meanwhile, in continuation of the bank’s mission of reaching out to maximum customers across India, it also organized a ‘customer outreach programme’ at Leh branch, in which Das distributed loan sanction letters to various beneficiaries, the spokesperson said.
As part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility, he said Das is presenting a ‘paper cutting machine’ to the People’s Action Group for Inclusion and Right, a Ladakh-based non-government organisation, which helps different people to earn their income through various means. Helping them by empowering them with skills. Live a livelihood and a dignified life.
