The investment was made through rights issue of shares in proportion to the shareholding. Private equity firm Warburg Pincus holds an 80% stake in Avance through affiliated Olive Wine Investments while IFC holds the remaining 20%.
With this capital investment, Avanse’s net worth increased to approximately ₹1,450 crore.
“We will use this new capital to reach out to more aspirants to fulfill their academic dreams. We will continue to remain focused on taking Avanse to the next stage of its continued profitable growth journey,” said Avanse’s Managing Director Amit the rhinoceros It was quoted as saying by the company in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Its assets under management stood at Rs 4,836 crore at the end of March, showing a compounded growth of 22% over the past four years.
The equity raised will enable Avanse to strengthen its balance sheet and capital adequacy ratio.
He added that Warburg looks forward to supporting Avanse in the next phase of Pincus development
