reserve Bank of India The customer is looking forward to setting up a fraud registry to compile a database of suspicious websites, phones and other digital fraud methods as part of its efforts to increase security.

According to reserve Bank of India Executive Director Anil Kumar SharmaSuch a database would help prevent these fraudsters from committing the same fraud as the website or phone numbers would be blacklisted.

“There is no fixed time frame for setting up of fraud registry. Presently, we are talking to various stakeholders including various departments like Payment and Settlement and Supervision of RBI,” Sharma revealed.

Users in the payment system will have access to this registry for near real-time fraud monitoring. In order to inform customers about new threats, aggregate fraud data will be made public.

Sharma also said that customers core investment company ,CIC) will come under Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (RB-iOS), 2021.

An integrated consumer grievance redressal process was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Last year to handle service issues with banks, NBFCs and digital payment platforms.

The Prime Minister has set up “One Nation One Lokpal” to streamline and better meet the needs of the customers of regulated enterprises.

He shared that under the Lokpal scheme, 4.18 lakh complaints were received in 2021-22, as against 3.82 lakh a year ago. In the most recent financial year, 97.9% of cases were successfully resolved, up from 96.5% a year ago.

He emphasized that customers should never reveal their account information to anyone and should immediately inform the bank if they become a victim of fraud to reduce their risk.
