Shared a picture revealing the disparity in the total bill when ordering food from Zomato. The photo shows an order of Rs 690 on Zomato while the same order costs Rs 512 when bought offline.

Kabra claimed, “They take 35-50% cut from hotels. Hence, hotels increase prices to compensate. Indirectly, Zomato is the one who is leading this growth.” Kabra wrote in the post, “Trying to snatch our customers by acting as nice guy, let’s see how long.”

While many users agreed with Zomato – which was earlier alleged by the Competition Commission of India
to charge unfairly – replied that he was looking into the issue.

“Hi Rahul, Zomato, being an intermediary platform between a customer and a restaurant, we do not have any control over the prices implemented by the restaurant partners on our platform. That said, we have communicated your feedback to the restaurant partner and requested them to look into it”, the company wrote.
