Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh on Monday launched a “unique” face recognition technology that will act as a proof of ‘life certificate’ for pensioners. He said that this face recognition technology of giving life certificate According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, this is a historic and far-reaching reform as it will not only affect the lives of 68 lakh central government pensioners but also those covered under EPFO ​​and state governments.

This feature is especially useful for those senior citizen Pensioners who cannot submit their fingerprint in the form of Biometric ID due to various reasons.

Department pension End Pensioners Welfare, through its official Twitter account, tweeted about “Benefits, Requirements and Process of generating Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) through Face Recognition Service based on UIDAI Aadhaar Software”.

“Under this capability the identity of the pensioner or family pensioner will be determined using face recognition technology. Any Android-based smart phone will be able to submit life certificate using this technology,” according to a report in PTI. The resultant Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is stored online and can be accessed by the pensioner and pension disbursing agency as required.

How to submit Digital Jeevan Pramaan (Jeevan Pramaan) through Face Recognition Service

Here’s how to submit the life certificate, as per a tweet by the pension department:

Step 1: Visit the Google Play Store and download the Aadhaar FaceID app.

Step 2: Provide appropriate authorization

Step 3: Complete the operator authentication and scan the operator’s face.

Note that this is a one-time process. One line definition of operator. Pensioners can also work as operators.

Step 4: The device is now ready for DLC generation and pensioner authentication.

Step 5: Fill the pensioner information.

Step 6: Scan a live photograph of the pensioner.

Note: Use proper lighting to photograph the front pose with a neutral gesture.

Step 7: Click on Submit

A message with a link to download the DLC will be sent to the mobile number provided during pensioner authentication.

• A biometric device is not required to use the Face app; The software captures the face using the phone’s camera.
• Jeevan Pramaan Face App is only available in India; It is not available anywhere else.
