Banking stocks have given a strong performance in Q1 of 2022-23, supported by revival in credit growth, increase in net interest income, (NII), improvement in asset quality and lower credit cost. The reports of ICICI Securities, Motilal Oswal, Sharekhan and rating agency ICRA show a stable sector outlook for 2022-23. There are 457 companies out of 500 on the BSE 500 index that have declared their first quarter results so far.
